I love looking at other people's fashion and style blogs but I can't explain why. It's not like I am actually going to buy or wear any of that stuff,it just makes me happy. Then I started thinking about all the time and money I have spent on clothes in the past 15 years. It must go into tens of thousands, but it's funny, no matter how much I spend and buy, I never feel satisfied that I have enough! It got me thinking though about the ghosts of outfits past...where are they now....well, here is some of the evidence taken on my phone camera!

I loved this smock type top - from Dorothy Perkins plus cropped city trousers from Per Una |

I loved this holiday combo - top from George, denim cropped trousers from Next outlet |
 |
Honeymoon in Sydney - summer dress from M&S |
 |
Feather coat from Oasis, jeans from Oasis, boots from Clarks on a bench in Scarborough |
 |
Dress bought in Boden sale dancing in France |
 |
Isabella Oliver maternity dress. It looked better in real life (I hope!) |
 |
Me on the left - Coast dress, love that one |
Actually while I was looking for these pictures it dawned on me how few pictures there actually are of me...why is this? Am I always the invisible hand behind the camera, do I avoid pictures? If so why? From now on I will make more of an effort to appear in pictures, if I have time to think about it that is.
I think we often are the one behind the camera, I have very few pictures of me too, especially with the kids. I need to rectify that.
ReplyDeleteThe Boden dress looks gorgeous.
Mich x
I know - I just have so much on my mind I forget to get in them...or I look so shattered I don't want a picture taken! There are no pictures of me after I gave birth as my hair looked so horrendous. I looked like coco the clown!
DeleteHaha I said the same to my husband at Christmas I'm always grabbing the camera or more often than not my iPhone to take a picture of the kids, him and the kids, the house etc but no one ever puts me in front of the camera unless we are having a proper family photoshoot!!!
ReplyDeleteI dread to think the amount that I have spent on clothes x
Ha ha. Hubbby and I had a discussion last night about this, I accused him of never bothering to photograph me. He then tried to take a picture which I diligently ducked out of....case closed!
DeleteI avoid being photographed! must do something about that I guess... great to be able to look back at those outfits :-)
ReplyDeleteI do too, for me I think it is a deep rooted confidence issue...don't have the time to spend on my appearance, tiredness etc...I remember having a photo taken in Australia a few years ago holding a koala. At the time I thought, "what a hideous photo of me", now I think, "what a lovely healthy glowing photo!".
DeleteGood post! I have hardly any pics of myself. Virtually none without one of the kids in shot!
ReplyDeleteI really wish I had more of me when I was preg. However felt and looked so yakky didn't seem to be a priority at the time!
DeleteLove the Boden and Coast dress .
ReplyDeleteIt's very rare you will find a picture of me they are all of my boys as I am always the one eighths camera, I must add though that I am not a photogenic person :)
